Vintage Tractor Working Day

Sunday 24th September 2017

Vintage Tractor DayThis year’s annual Vintage Tractor Working Day event at Aden Country Park should prove to be the best yet. There will be a rare chance to see a wide variety of vintage tractors ranging from the 1930s to the 1960s.

A splendid variety of vintage tractors and will demonstrate how ploughing, harrowing, cultivating, ridging, seeding, rolling, scarifying and shimming were carried out. Weather permitting, we also hope to have the opportunity to demonstrate one of the major tasks of the Buchan farmer’s year, threshing.

Other attractions include the Aden Heritage & Country Fair located in the Aden courtyard area. The fair has been designed to help celebrate the local culture and farming traditions unique to Aberdeenshire. The fair will offer a range of activities including traditional Scottish music, the family history society of Buchan, exhibition of rural photographs, craft stalls, children's train rides, access to the Aberdeenshire Farming Museum, and an opportunity to either have lunch or a fly cup from the Café at Aden.

For the shopaholics a warm welcome also awaits in the Aden Craft & Gift Shop where the Friends of Aden are working in partnership with Willowbank Day Services to provide a unique range of locally handmade arts and crafts including cards, bags, scarfs, and jewellery, as well as a range of things to keep the kids amused. So be sure to drop in past the Aden Craft & Gift Shop, a warm welcome awaits.

Landscape Officer at Aden Country Park Jack Grant said:
