Turning The Elements

Sunday 7th May 2017 7:00pm

Frances Cooper (soprano) and Joanna Nicholson (clarinet) present a lyrical programme exploring the theme of nature and our place in it.

- Folk Song arrangements

- 20th Century British and American song

And, at its centre

- A thrilling artistic collaboration - two suites of song commissioned from composers Rebecca Rowe and Stuart Mitchell Murray, setting new poetry from award-winning Scottish writers Jane McKie and Stewart Sanderson.

A backdrop of nature photography compliments the music.

You will find the varied programme along with a slide show, the mix of traditional and contemporary music, the reference to nature and bird life along with the high quality of performance - an irresistible combination. Come along to hear this inspirational blend, offering the comfort of the familiarity of the old and the stimulus of the new. This is an exciting opportunity to hear locally based and innovative musician, Clarinettist,  Joanna Nicholson along with her renowned co-performer, Soprano,  Frances Cooper.
