New Website to Raise Profile of Aden
A new website is currently being developed to help raise the profile of Aden Country Park in Mintlaw. The website is due to be launched on Saturday 2nd April to coincide with the seasonal opening of the Aberdeenshire Farming Museum and Aden café.
The Aden Country Park website is being developed as part of the LEADER and Buchan Community Planning Partnership funded “Making the Most of Aden Country Park” project which is looking at developing the asset of Aden Country Park, making full use of its rich cultural and environmental resources to improve, regenerate, promote and sustain the Park for future generations.
After consultation sessions with the local community and feedback gained through an online and offline questionnaire, it was identified that one of the key themes in need of improvement was the current lack of marketing and promotion of the Park facilities, activities, and events.
The Aden Country Park website will include information on things to do, facilities, news, events, education, friends of Aden, and local attractions. So whether you are studying North East rural farming life at the Farming Museum, recording an album at the Arc Recording Studio, having a cuppa at the restaurant, letting the kids run wild in the children’s play area, studying the tenth century Book of Deer manuscript, or walking the dog around the various trails spotting wildlife, then Aden Country Park is the place for you.
Neil Shirran, Aden Development Worker said
“The new Aden Country Park website will raise awareness, helping to put Aden firmly on the map. Along with the website, we are also developing a new range of leaflets aimed at providing more information on the Aden estate story, tree and walking trails, Hareshowe Working F a rm, and the Aberdeenshire Farming Museum. It is hoped that this material will help to support the promotion not only of Aden Country Park but also the Buchan area as a real tourism destination”.
Funding for the marketing and promotion of Aden Country Park has been sourced from the Buchan Community Planning Partnership, the Aberdeenshire Council Museum Services, Landscape Services, and TOTAL E&P UK Limited.
Aden Country Park is a 230 acre site situated in central Buchan, connecting the villages of Mintlaw and Old Deer and linking on to the Formartine and Buchan Way. The Park provides quality recreational space for the local community and visitors to the area with plenty of activities for all ages, abilities and interests.
The “Making the Most of Aden Country Park” project is a partnership where Buchan Development Partnership is working with the various services of Aberdeenshire Council working in Aden Country Park to deliver this project. These are Aberdeenshire Heritage, Landscape Services, The Ranger Service, Aberdeenshire Cultural Services and the Local Area Manager for Buchan.
