Rare Day Out at Vintage Tractor Working Day
Come to Aden Country Park in its 30th birthday year for a rare chance to see a wide variety of vintage tractors on display and doing the work they were made for. The annual vintage tractor day will be held at Hareshowe Working Farm, Aden Country Park, Mintlaw, on Sunday 26th September, from 12:15pm until 4.15pm
A splendid variety of vintage tractors will demonstrate how ploughing, harrowing, cultivating, ridging, seeding, rolling, scarifying and shimming were carried out from the 1930s to the 1960s.
Weather permitting, we also hope to have the opportunity to demonstrate one of the major tasks of the Buchan farmer’s year, threshing.
Working and static tractors on display include: Massey Ferguson, John Deer, International, Ford, David Brown, Fordson, Ferguson, Leyland, Nuffield, McCormack, Gunsmith, Field Marshall, Ursus, Lister, Case, Zetor and many more.
To help celebrate Aden Country Park 30th birthday a range of traditional Scottish song and music will be performed by “Local Vocals”. The live performance will take place in the courtyard area outside the Aberdeenshire Farming Museum. So why not have your fly cup whist listening to some great traditional music.
Landscape Officer at Aden Country Park Jack Grant said:
“This will be a rare chance to experience the sights and sounds of Buchan’s farming heritage so why not make a visit to the Hareshowe and the Aberdeenshire Farming Museum as part of a family day out at Aden Country Park”.
