Aden Park Plays New Sound
As part of sound, the North East Scotland's festival of new music, Aden Country Park will be hosting the Swedish Curious Chamber Players on Thursday 27th October at 1pm in the Aden Theatre. The Curious Chamber Players will showcase brand new works by the Scandinavian composers written in close collaboration with the ensemble, which comprises a flute, clarinet, violin, guitar as well as some newly invented sound objects.
The programme is to include a world première by Rei Munakata (Buckle in the Air for ensemble), Tomi Räisänen (Balloon Work for ensemble), and Ørjan Matre (Bellows/billows for ensemble).
In addition the group are teaming up with the local Pitfour Primary School to deliver a unique workshop, providing an insight into how the Curious Chamber Players both compose and play their music. The children have then been kindly invited along to the afternoon performance in the theatre in Aden Country Park.
The lunchtime performance is a free event (donations welcomed) and is suitable for all ages. Due to the small nature of the Aden Theatre seating may well be at a premium so arrive early to avoid disappointment. In addition the Aden Café/Restaurant will be open throughout the day so if you do arrive early feel free to stop for a fresh cuppa.
