Aden allotments project to hold public meeting
The Aden Country Park allotments and community garden project is to hold its first public meeting on Wednesday 23rd May, at 6.30pm, in the award winning Aberdeenshire Farming Museum.
The meeting is being organised as part of an “Investing in Ideas” Big Lottery Funded project which Buchan Development Partnership are working with Aberdeenshire Council and the Friends of Aden Country Park to establish whether the local Buchan community would like to see the development of allotments and community gardens in the grounds of Aden Country Park.
The focus of the night will be to identify interest in the idea and to have an open discussion on what people want to see developed. The Aden Development Worker will briefly go through the initial analysis from the recently circulated allotments questionnaire, and will take the group to the possible allotment and community garden site identified by Aberdeenshire Council.
Neil Shirran, Aden Development Worker said:
“We’ve had some really positive feedback through the allotment questionnaire and the meeting should help us formulate exactly what people want to be developed. By working with Aberdeenshire Council we have managed to identify a good site for the allotments and community gardens so if everyone agrees the location the next stage it to price up what needs done and get the money in place.
Tea and coffee will be offered on arrival but please bring warm clothes and suitable footwear as, we do (weather dependant) intend on walking to the proposed allotments and community garden site.
