Aden Attractions Open for New Season
The award-winning Aberdeenshire Farming Museum, Café/Restaurant, Caravan & Camping Park and Craft & Gift Shop in Aden Country Park, Mintlaw, have all opened their doors for the 2013 season.
The Aberdeenshire Farming Museum brings alive the story of the NE Scotland farming past in the unmatched setting of the restored estate home farm. This unique semi-circular steading is in turn surrounded by the beautiful woodlands of Aden Country Park, providing an attractive haven for wildlife and visitors.
The relatively new Aden Craft & Gift Shop offers visitors a unique shopping experience with a wide selection of locally made arts and crafts, including cards, bags, scarfs, and jewellery as well as a range of books, music, souvenirs, and children's toys, all at fair prices. So if you are looking for that special gift, visit the Craft & Gift Shop today.
For those who like to lunch, Aden also offers the perfect opportunity for relaxation over a delicious cup of coffee in our award winning café/restaurant. If you’re more into the simple things in life, indulge yourself with your favourite ice cream from our ice cream kiosk.
For those who want to stay, Aden also offers a uniform group campsite and fully serviced four-star Aden Caravan & Camping Park. With the range of facilities and activities on offer it’s easy to see why the site is so popular.
Neil Shirran, Aden Development Worker said:
“I’m delighted to see all the Aden Park attractions open again for the season. Not only does Aden provide a great place to shop, eat and enjoy our local heritage, it also offers the space for an enjoyable walk, picnic, or BBQ in beautiful surroundings, or simply an area for the kids run off steam at the children’s play area.
Our very popular annual events, dog agility area, Victorian arboretum and ruined mansion house also create a great deal of interest. So if you fancy a enjoying day out in the heart of Buchan why not visit Aden Country Park today.”
The Farming Museum and Café/Restaurant will open on Tuesday to Sunday each week from 2nd April to 30th September, and 15th to 27th October 2013, from 10am to 4pm. Admission to the museum is free but donations are always welcomed. The Aden Craft & Gift Shop is open weekdays (Monday to Friday): 10am to 3.30pm, and weekends (Saturday & Sunday): 10am - 4pm
