New life for the Café at Aden
Local business partnership, Joanna and Noel Gall, of The Lodge, Strichen, opened the doors of the Café in Aden last week. The Café, which is situated in the scenic Aden Country Park, in Mintlaw, will open daily from 10am to 5pm, Tuesday to Sunday and will offer a selection of light lunches, home baking and hot and cold drinks.
Joanna Gall, proprietor of the Café, said: ‘The Café at Aden is in a lovely setting and I am thrilled to be taking on this new venture with the support of Aberdeenshire Council. The café itself has been modernised, and now has a country-chic feel, which perfectly reflects this setting.’
Wherever possible, we support local producers, and will be using suppliers such as Peter’s Ices, The Store at Foveran, Devenick Dairy, Bert Fowlie Butcher and Farmlay Eggs. We are committed, not only to lowering food miles, but also believe we should showcase the best food this area has to offer.’
‘The café will also be a ‘green’ venture of sorts. We are trying to be as sustainable as possible, and will be using disposable plates, cups and napkins, which can all be recycled. This will cut down our water consumption, whilst the biodegradability of our products will mean we create a smaller ecological footprint.’
Following its opening on 10th June, the café will be open Tuesday-Sunday each week from 10am-5pm. It holds indoor seating for approximately sixty, with outside seating also available, and offers a takeaway service.
