DESCRIPTION:Welcome to Wildflower Seed Collection & Scything at Aden Country Park! 🌼 Join us at Aden Country Park – East on Saturday\, 23rd August at 10:00 for a fun day outdoors. \nLet’s get our hands dirty collecting wildflower seeds and using scythes to clear the way for new growth. It’s a great way to connect with nature and learn about local flora and fauna. This event is in collaboration with Curam Fyvie\, Outdoor & Woodland Learning Scotland and the Aden Country Park team. We will also be joined by an entomologist from The James Hutton Institute to survey pollinators and other invertebrates using the meadow. \nThanks to the kind sponsorship and support from TAQA (taqa.com)\, this workshop is free of charge. DESCRIPTION:Come along for a walk in the park. The Aden health walks take place every second Friday at 10am. The walks usually last between 30 minutes and an hour and are suitable for all abilities. At the end of the walk everyone will get a free cup of tea or coffee. If you would like to come along please meet at the play area entrance at 10am. Please note: dogs are not permitted on the health walk. \nHealth Walks are a supportive and welcoming way for you to start enjoying the many benefits of being physically active \nA Health Walk: \n• is a friendly group walk\n• takes place regularly\n• is led by a trained Walk Leader along a risk assessed route\n• is less than an hour long\n• welcomes new participants who would benefit from being more active\n• is an opportunity to meet new people in your area and explore places you might not have been before \nHealth Walks are aimed at those who would benefit most from being more active and meeting others. This could include people who haven’t been active for a while and would like to start again\, people recovering from ill health or who are managing a long-term condition\, and anyone who’s been told by a health professional that they would benefit from being more active. \nThose joining a local walk enjoy a whole range of benefits including increased fitness\, improved mood and increased social interactions with other people and the local area. Taking part is free and requires no special equipment\, making it an ideal way to become more active.

DESCRIPTION:We are delighted to announce that the annual Seedy Sunday event will be held in the Aden Country Park polytunnels on Sunday 1st March from 11am to 3.30pm. The event will offer a range of activities including our seed swap table\, free seed potato giveaway by One Seed Forward\, food vendors\, craft\, gift and plant stalls (see below for details)\, along with a range of children activities by both the Aberdeenshire Ranger Service and Peterhead Community Council Greenspace Champions\, coupled with information and displays on how to prevent food waste\, save water\, along with recipe cards and related giveaways. \nAberdeenshire Ranger Service activities will be held in the Ranger Cabin (just beside the plant nursery) including: \nPollinator Pots – Get hands-on and help nature thrive! Decorate your own plant pot and sow pollinator-friendly seeds to take home and grow. Learn how simple planting choices can support bees\, butterflies and other important insects\, perfect for all ages and no gardening experience needed. \nSeed Detective Table – Become a Seed Detective! Explore a fascinating collection of seeds and discover how plants travel\, grow and survive. Use magnifiers to investigate shapes and textures\, and match seeds to the plants they come from in this fun\, family-friendly nature challenge. \nAlong with the food vendors\, stalls include: shrubs and plants\, homemade jams and chutneys\, botanical soaps\, floral wreaths and decorations\, handmade stoneware pottery\, Fairtrade goods\, dark chocolate treats\, Cacti and 3D printed pots\, delicious loose leaf teas\, beautiful local honey\, goat milk soaps\, lotions and balm\, natural dog treats for our four legged friends (who are more than welcome at the event)\, along with Friends of Aden craft and gifts\, and the Aden Picture Framing. \nEntry to the poly tunnels is £2.00 per adult – children under 16’s are free.  Entry is cash only but the stall holders will have card payment facilities.
