DESCRIPTION:Music at Aden (part of the Friends of Aden) bring you a performance by the Aberdeen Sinfonietta Chamber Players on Sunday 1st September. \nAberdeen Sinfonietta Chamber Players consist of Bryan Dargie\, Violin\, Guera Crockett\, Violin\, Alison MacDonald\, Cello\, Sandra Thomson\, Viola. \nThe performers are all members of Aberdeen Sinfonietta and will perform an attractive programme of famous quartets by Haydn\, Mozart\, a trio movement by Schubert and Dvorak’s ‘American Quartet’ \nHeld in the Theatre within Aden Country Park\, Mintlaw\, with it’s wonderful acoustics\, the performance will be held at 1.30 pm on Sunday\, 1st September\, 2024. DESCRIPTION:As part of this year’s Door Open Day event\, the Deer Parish Church will open it’s doors to the public on Saturday 21st September between 10am and 4pm\, and on Sunday 22nd September between 2pm and 4pm. \nDuring the Doors Open Days there will be an exhibition by local heritage groups\, namely The Book of Deer Project\, the Buchan Heritage Society\, the Buchan Field Club\, the local churches\, Friends of Aden Park and the Friends of New Aberdour Pilgrimage and Heritage initiative. These groups are coming together to form the Deer Heritage Initiative\, a project to re-purpose the church into a heritage centre. \nThe church is the parish church of Deer. The present building was constructed in the 18th century on top of the ruins of a previous medieval building\, the remains of which (choir part) are located immediately behind the church.
