Year on year, Aden Country Park has been recognised as one of the United Kingdom’s best green spaces by being awarded the prestigious Green Flag Award. The success makes the park the most northerly recipient of a Green Flag in the UK. Green Flag Awards recognise and reward the best parks in the country and Aden Country Park impressed the judges with its excellent use of green space, well-maintained facilities and high standard of safety and security.
In 2015, Aden Country Park was awarded the TripAdvisor® Certificate of Excellence. The award celebrates excellence in hospitality and is given only to establishments that consistently achieve great reviews on TripAdvisor and that have continually delivered a superior customer experience.
Aberdeenshire Farming Museum and Hareshowe Farm meets the quality standards of the UK Museum Accreditation Scheme. Administered by Museums Galleries Scotland on behalf of the UK Accreditation Partnership, Accreditation is the benchmark for well-run Museums and Galleries.
The Aberdeenshire Farming Museum collection is one of Scotland’s Recognised Collections. The Scottish Government Recognised Collections Scheme is managed by Museums Galleries Scotland, and identifies, celebrates, and supports the nationally significant collections in the country’s local museums. The exhibits and the buildings which form the Aberdeenshire Farming Museum are counted among Scotland’s Treasures.
Aberdeenshire Farming Museum has received a 4-star visitor attraction award rating through the VisitScotland Quality Assurance Scheme. The QA scheme for visitor attractions has been developed in partnership with the industry to provide a comprehensive, independent, accurate assessment of the quality of experience visitor attractions offer.

Situated adjacent to the 230-acre Aden Country Park, this is a small tranquil site offering excellent facilities. It is ideally located for visiting the many tourist attractions in this beautiful north-east coastal area. The site is only a short drive from the busy fishing towns of Fraserburgh and Peterhead, and as it is only an hour from Aberdeen’s centre; this is an ideal spot for a short stay or a longer holiday, and there is one disabled-adapted static for hire. The adjacent country park plays host to numerous events throughout the year, including pipe band championships, horse events and various ranger-run activities.
In 2022 the Aden Caravan & Camping Site was delighted when they were accredited by VisitScotland with a 4 Star award for Small Holiday Parks. The VisitScotland Quality Assurance Scheme for Camping and Caravan Parks has been developed in partnership with the industry to provide parks with a comprehensive, independent, accurate assessment of the quality of experience they are offer. The Star-grading scheme uses a five-level star-grading system to indicate the standard of customer care and range of facilities. The Aden Caravan & Camping Site being accredited with a 4-star award is therefore a great accolade, demonstrating that the site not only takes quality seriously, but is delivering a very high visitor experience.
In 2017 the Aden Caravan & Camping Site were delighted to have been awarded Runner Up in the Best Campsite category in the Scottish Outdoor and Leisure Awards. The awards were created to showcase and reward outstanding contributions to Scotland’s outdoor and leisure industry, the businesses across the nation displaying unrivalled quality and contributing to Scotland’s reputation as one of the world’s best tourist destinations.

In July 2006 NEFA received the Study Sphere Educational Award for Excellence. The NEFA website was selected as one of the best educational resources on the Web by Study Sphere, an Internet directory of educational resources for students, teachers, and parents.

In March 2002 NEFA was also awarded the Innovative Teaching Concepts Four-Star Award. The NEFA website was said to have exceeded expectations in providing outstanding and innovative educational content, as well as superior design layout.
In February 2001 NEFA received the British History Bronze Award. The award was assessed on content and presentation of the NEFA website and was given to outstanding websites.
