Woodcraft at Aden is a not for profit organisation which gives service users the opportunity to learn new skills and feel part of a team. Buchan Day Opportunities operate Woodcraft at Aden and the service helps adults with learning disability, autism and multiple disabilities to meet their needs in their local communities. This project is based in a purpose built workshop in the grounds of the park.
Garden furniture
This project produces high quality garden furniture and other wooden items. Group members make these using Woodcraft at Aden’s machinery and tools.
There are different tasks that you can be involved with, including:
- collecting the wood from the store
- measuring
- cutting the wood to size
- assembling the product
- sanding wood
- painting the wood
- drilling holes
The furniture is sold from Willowbank and at a local plant sale. Furniture is also made to order throughout the year so if you want something bespoke made for you just get and touch and we can discuss the specifics.
Buchan Day Opportunities also work in the Friends of Aden Craft and Gift Shop and have kindlers for sale in the shop.
The products that Woodcraft at Aden create can be viewed through the Woodcraft at Aden Facebook page below.
